Jessica Darlene Cassels cheap bridal dress , of Columbia, and Dalton Slade Darden, of Columbia, were married in a 2 p.m. ceremony May 7 at Bethany Baptist Church in Columbia.

The ceremony was officiated by Rod Ship.

The bride is the daughter of Bobby and Anna Weatherford, of Columbia, and Kody Hawkes, of Lake Charles. She is the granddaughter of Harry and Joyce Cassels, of Columbia, and Shelia Bailey, of Iowa, La.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Shannon Franklin, of Columbia, and Mr. and Mrs. Deno Darden, of Columbia. The bride was given in marriage by her father and wore a taffeta wedding gown . The dramatic neckline and an elegantly draped bodice combined to create a beautifully flattering bridal gown . The gown featured a high collar halter and a side-draped trumpet gown with beading details in the front, button back detail and a chapel train. Jessica carried a hand-tied bouquet of red tulips.

Immediately following the wedding ceremony a reception was held for the couple at the church.

A rehearsal dinner was held in the couple’s honor on May 6 and was hosted by the groom’s parents.

Prior to the wedding ceremony a few showers were held for the couple.
On April 2 a lingerie shower/bachelorette party was held at the home of Katie Hillestad. The shower was hosted by friends of the bride.

A bridal shower was held at the Community Center in Columbia on April 10. The shower was hosted by family and friends of the bride.

A joint bridal shower was held alongside Elizabeth DeGrie Killeen on May 5 at the Ruston Daily Leader. Co-workers and friends of the Daily Leader hosted the shower.

The couple spent a weekend honeymoon in Natchez, Miss.
